Modeled after Metra’s F40 locomotives, this engine represents one of the most recognizable sights in Chicago-area railroading. For decades, F40s have led Metra’s familiar bi-level commuter trains between downtown Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
Handcrafted by real railfans, our wooden trains are designed as durable, child-friendly toys made for years of play and often treasured as keepsakes and heirlooms. While safety and durability always come first in our designs, each piece is still inspired by the look and spirit of the real train.
