Union Pacific Hopper - 3"

Modeled after Union Pacific’s “Building America” coal hoppers, this compact 3-inch freight car is inspired by the cars used in unit coal trains across the UP system. The yellow marking at one end identifies the rotary-coupler end, which allows the real car to be turned in a rotary dumper for unloading without uncoupling the train.

Handcrafted by real railfans, our wooden trains are designed as durable, child-friendly toys made for years of play and often treasured as keepsakes and heirlooms. While safety and durability always come first in our designs, each piece is still inspired by the look and spirit of the real train.
